Happy Friday! First football game tonight. Woohoo!!
On Fridays this year, we get to wear jeans with our spirit gear. I had to wear capris since it has been so hot. These are Lauren Conrad capris from Kohl's. I love them so much. Wish I had a couple more pairs. My spirit shirt says Falcons since the football team is Falcons for our co-op.

Outfit #10
We are on the downhill slide of this hot week. This outfit is by far not one of my favorites, but I am over it this week. I tried to jazz it up with this funky, lime green belt. $5 dress from Walmart! I call that a score!

Outfit #9
The temp is still AWFUL!!! I thought this skirt would keep me cool all day. I love the two lengths of the skirt. It is hard to tell in the picture but the long layer is a little see through, then there is a shorter dark layer underneath. It is so flowy and light. Notice the ponytail again. This hot weather is making me crazy!!!
Every time I wear this pink shirt, I think "Oh, I hope the kindergarten teacher is not wearing it today." She has the same shirt. Well sure enough, we are sitting in our elementary meeting this morning, and there she is in a matching shirt. Twinsies!!!!!

Outfit #8
It has been SO hot at school. I thought this silk shirt would be nice and cool today.
Update after school: no such luck on a cool shirt. It is just stinking (literally my classroom stinks from sweaty kiddos) hot!
Maybe tomorrow will be better!

Outfit #7
Here is my outfit today. I am ABSOLUTELY loving this new dress. It is a simple basic but has unique lines. My future mother in law brought it back from Hawaii. I dressed it up with a leopard belt. My belt and shoes are from Target. Love that place!!!!
Note that my hair is in a ponytail- never my favorite thing but it is supposed to be high 90s today. We are going to be hot, hot, hot in the school. Since I don't love ponytails, I added a little character to mine this morning.
Next time, I will have to make my braid thicker to better cover my rubber band. It will probably be flat and matted to my head by the end of the day, but it was worth a try!
Happy Monday!!!

Photo Catch Up
We are 3 days into school and 5 days into work and I have not posted a picture yet so I have to catch up! The beginning of the school year is a crazy time and then I decided I should coach a volleyball team so I added that to my schedule this week. Needless to say, I was overwhelmingly busy last week. Lucky for me though, I live in a town that has school off for the county fair... I know, it seems silly, but it is a God send for teachers. This means that I finally have the time to upload some pictures.
I am going to number each picture and then hopefully I will get better at this and post each day so the outfit has the correct date. Enjoy!

Outfit #5
Second day of school. Mind you it was in the high 90's this week so we were melting at the school. My hair sure did not look like this by the end of the day.
My shirt is from my mom's consignment store, Second Hand Rose, in Cody, WY. My pants and shoes are both from high school...Yikes! Time to upgrade the wardrobe.

A Life of Firsts
I have wanted to start a blog for quite some time now but it is so hard to know where to begin or what might be so important in my life that others would want to read about me, but for whatever reason, it is finally a good time for me to start the blog.
First, I want to talk about the title of my blog: A Life of Firsts. This has multiple meanings to me. For starters, I am a first grade teacher. My students have taught me the simple enjoyment in something happening for the first time in your life. They embrace every new experience full force and have really taught me to enjoy the new things in life. Granted not everything in my life is happening for the first time, but sometimes it is nice to be reflective of things we take for granted (i.e. re-experience them for the first time).
My fiancé, Travis, and I also embarked on a new journey just over a year ago. We moved from Wyoming, our one and only home, to try our hand at North Dakota. This is the second meaning in my title: A Life of Firsts. This adventure together has been a whole new adventure and one in which we have experienced a lot of firsts together. I hope to reflect back on some of our first in North Dakota through this blog.
Lastly, and this may be the silliest reason but, I wanted to have a place to record my outfits. I know, silly! When I student taught in the Spring of 2011, the para I worked with noticed that I wore a different outfit almost every day. I thought it was silly but last year when I took my first teaching job, I challenged myself to wear a different outfit everyday. Now, I cannot remember exactly what I wore everyday and if I was successful but it was fun to try and mix up my closet. I am not saying that I only wore every piece of clothing in my closet just once, but I had to wear each piece different than I had before. Turns out, it is quite challenging! So on the eve of the start of my second year teaching, I again am challenging myself to wear a different outfit everyday. My blog will be my record of how I do...
If you have ever experienced a first in your life, teach, or are interested in fashion, I encourage you to follow my blog. I will do my best to keep it updated and share anything new in my life. The life of a teacher can get very busy and overwhelming then add on top a little coaching and wedding planning and you have me: a life of firsts!

Outfit #1
Here is my outfit from the first day of inservice. Note: my shirt was $1 at a second hand store in Laurel, MT! Score!!!!
My fiancé would not get out of bed in time to take my picture this day so I had to do it myself. Sorry it is not the best picture.
